PowerHA6.1 und Disk Heartbeat 1 Year, 9 Months ago

Hallo zusammen,
Frank

Hallo Frank,
starting with HACMP 5.4.1 the Multi-Node Disk Heartbeat is a second possibility to implement the non-IP network in your cluster using disks. The traditional disk heartbeat is still available and you just have to select the appropriate disk of a enhanced concurrent mode VG in the topology section of the enhanced configuration.
The Multi-Node Disk Heartbeat adds a new network type to the cluster which is not accessible through the traditional smit panels. It uses a real concurrent VG and creates a raw device which is accessible by all nodes in the cluster.
If a node looses the contact to the disk a predefined failure action is called which may e.g. halt the node.
Regards
Claus

Hello Claus,
thanks for the answer. So (at this moment) it is choosable which HB implementation I want to use.
As for now we can stick with our old fashioned way.
Kind regards
Frank
