DMS Timeout and Kernel Panic during Failover |

During some cluster tests at several customer sites, I detected a problem with the DMS. Crashing one node for a failover test lead to a DMS timeout on the surviving node (which of course resulted in a kernel panic and a crash of this node, too). |

HACMP/PowerHA offers a nice tool for parallel command execution in the cluster. This command is part of C-SPOC, fully supported, and does not require any setup of ssh or dsh. |

HACMP/PowerHA offers several possibilities to query the state of the cluster. The best way to see the state of each node ist to execute the command lssrc -ls clstrmgrES and to look for the output of the first line for the state of each node. This will ensure that you do not start any action as long as the cluster is not stable (ST_STABLE). |

Starting with AIX 6.1 TL 4, AIX offers a new command to directly mount an ISO file. The loopmount command will mount any ISO image directly into the filesystem without the need to copy it into a raw LV as before. |
